Dr. Mark Bauernfeind is an interventional pain and musculoskeletal medicine fellowship-trained physician who specializes in minimally invasive, nonsurgical, and comprehensive treatments for back, neck, and other musculoskeletal pain.
Dr. Bauernfeind aims to improve function, quality of life, and long-term pain relief through a holistic, team-based, multi-specialty approach including rehabilitation, medication optimization, and ultrasound and image-guided interventions. He has extensive training and experience with a number of minimally invasive procedures, including epidural steroid injections, ultrasound-guided evaluation and treatments, spinal cord stimulators, and regenerative medicine such as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP).
Dr. Bauernfeind earned his medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Rochester in New York, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year. He completed a prestigious North American Spine Society (NASS) recognized fellowship in interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine at OSS Health in York, Pennsylvania. During his fellowship, he also volunteered as a team physician for high school football teams.
Dr. Bauernfeind has participated in numerous research projects, publications, and professional lectures. He is a member of the Spine Intervention Society, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Phi Beta Kappa.
