Carl Wang, MD

Anesthesiologist/Pain Management

Dr. Carl Wang joins Spine Team Texas as a fellowship trained physician in the field of Pain Management and Anesthesiology.

Prior to joining Spine Team Texas, Dr. Wang completed his Interventional Pain Management fellowship and Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine residency at the University of California – Los Angeles. His work consisted of evaluating and treating a broad spectrum of illnesses, including orthopedic, rheumatologic, and oncologic ailments, at the busy academic center. Dr. Wang earned his medical degree from Cornell Medical College in New York and an undergraduate degree from Amherst College, in Massachusetts.

Dr. Wang has accumulated rigorous educational foundation and superlative clinical experience. He received the Van Poznak Anesthesiology Research Scholarship consisting of research fellowship and assistant professor position with dedicated research time and post-residency training at Weill Cornell Medical College. He was a Dr. Milton B. Rosenbluth Fellow which is a global health fellowship at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical School in Moshi, Tanzania. He has published abstracts and was in the top 10 percentile on the American Board of Anesthesiology exam. Dr. Wang also has advanced training in spinal cord stimulation.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Dr. Wang is a classical violinist and has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York. He enjoys going to Ranger games, skiing and is fluent in Mandarin. He is also involved in church with his wife and child.
