How We Can Help

The Way Back to Life.

At Spine Team Texas, we focus on one thing — comprehensive spine care. It's our mission to uphold a reputation of excellence through our dedicated staff and fellowship-trained, spine-focused physicians.

Our expertise spans over four distinct treatment arenas: physical medicine and rehabilitation, physical therapy, minimally invasive surgery and injection therapy. Through our integrated, team approach, we're able to customize a treatment plan using a combination of one or more options from these specialized fields of expertise. This not only helps ensure you're receiving the best available care, but also provides you a host of highly effective non-surgical or minimally invasive treatment options.

Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

Since most back pain is muscle-related, the specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation (PMR) is a widely elected option in treating back and neck pain. At Spine Team Texas, a PMR physician will collaborate with our spine-focused physical therapists, using exercise as the key ingredient to recovery along with other non-surgical treatment methods.

Physical Therapy.

Instead of referring a patient across town, Spine Team Texas has an on-site physical therapy gym with a team of spine-focused physical therapists, some of which are trained in the McKenzie method for spine therapy. Experts in physical therapy, exercise for rehabilitation and musculoskeletal diagnostics, our physical therapists blend hands-on care with personalized movements and exercises that strengthen the back and improve flexibility. Through these treatments, the physical therapists at Spine Team Texas can help address your pain symptoms so you can get back to life.

Minimally Invasive Surgery.

Approximately 90% of Spine Team Texas patients are treated non-surgically. However, when surgery is needed, you'll be glad to know our neurosurgeons are nationally recognized for their skills and expertise. Led by Dr. David Rothbart, a renowned neurosurgeon and advocate of minimally invasive surgical techniques, our spine-focused surgeons are highly trained and experienced in the latest surgical methods and technologies. Minimally invasive surgery provides the opportunity to relieve pain. This treatment method involves making a small incision, as little as half an inch, and inserting specialized instruments or probes to access and repair the damaged area of the spine. This less aggressive approach is typically completed on an outpatient basis has proven to be as successful as conventional, or "open surgery", methods.

Injection Therapy.

Spine Team Texas has a state-of-the-art injection suite with the most advanced technology. Under fluoroscopic guidance, these injections directly target the source of pain, delivering effective medication to help bridge the patient to the exercise gym. In addition, these injections can be used as an advanced diagnostic tool, providing helpful clues to the possible causes of neck and back pain.

BOTOX Neurotoxin Treatment.

BOTOX has been approved by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) to treat Cervical Dystonia (uncontrollable muscle tightening or turning of the neck). Qualifying Spine Team Texas patients can be treated with BOTOX to relieve muscle spasms and reduce pain levels. The treatment works by stopping the release of acetylcholine, a substance that transmits signals from nerves to muscles. Results from the BOTOX Neurotoxin Treatment have been seen within a few days, with most patients only needing to return for another injection after three months.
