An accomplished neurosurgical physician assistant in neurosurgical procedures, Stefanie Sanderson joined Spine Team Texas in 2006, focusing on improving the quality of life for patients through her knowledge of non-surgical treatment options to help increase range of motion and strengthen the neck and back.
Before starting with Spine Team Texas, Sanderson spent five years as neurosurgical physician assistant with Cedar Neurological Surgeons in Cedar Rapids, Mich., and two years as a certified nurse assistant at Columbine Care Center in Fort Collins, Colo. She worked as a study coordinator for clinical trials, examining Symptomatic Cervical Disc Disease, and contributed her knowledge of the medical field by writing for Trade Secret, a medical transcription book.
Sanderson received her master's degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Iowa and her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Colorado State University. Additionally, she qualified for the College of Natural Science's Dean'’s List and received a Presidential Scholarship Award.
As an acting member of the Association of Neurosurgical Physical Assistants, and American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Sanderson continues to devote her time to physical therapy. She's certified by The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant, Texas Physician Assistant and Advance Cardiac Life support.
