Richard Scott McPherson, D.O.

Dr. Richard Scott McPherson contributes a wide range of expertise to Spine Team Texas, from pain management to interventional procedure skills. Patients also benefit from his sub-specialty training in the management of musculoskeletal spine disorders.
Dr. McPherson earned his medical degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and his undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas, where he graduated magna cum laude. He completed his residencies at the University of Pittsburgh in 2003 and UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2005. He received fellowship training at Rehab NY for spine and musculoskeletal disorders.
To expand his wealth of knowledge, Dr. McPherson has attended seminars and workshops across the country. He was a contributing editor for Rehab in Review, reviewing relevant rehabilitation articles and medical journals for publishing consideration. He has presented several lectures, including a discussion on Lumbar Spinal Stenosis at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He is involved with several professional organizations including: American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Physiatric Association of Spine, Sports and Occupational Medicine, International Spine Intervention Society, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Osteopathic Association, and Dallas Osteopathic Study Group.
